The Bolshoi Moscow Circus was born on Vorobiovy (Lenin) Hills. There was no similar circus in the world and there is nothing like it nowadays.

The spectators can see only the ground part of the building made of concrete and glass, 36 metres from the arena to the dome in height. But the underground part of the building is a mystery to most people. There are five substituting one another arenas on the depth of 18 metes: equestrian, illusionist, ice, water and luminous.

It takes only 5-7 minutes to substitute one arena for another. Well adjusted equipment installed under the ground makes these quick changes possible. One arena is pulled down, moved aside and another is moved to the aperture and lifted up by a "gigantic hand'. Isn't it a unique item on the programme.

It is not surprising that the journalists called the Bolshoi Moscow Circus constructed according to the design of I.Belopolsky one of the best in the world.

Three thousand four hundred and fifty spectators come to our circus daily to see the unique items on the programme and performances in which the best actor of this country and the world take part. The Swedish circus "Scott", the Chinese and Mongolian circuses, outstanding masters of the circus arena, such as Yuri Nikulin, Irena Bugrimova, Vladimir Voldjansky, Karandash, Leonid Kostiuk worked here.

All the necessary conditions for producing new shows and performances are created in the circus. The sixth rehearsal arena is occupied almost 24 hours a day, There are comfortable dressing - rooms for the actors and convenient open - air and indoor cages for the animals.

Nowadays the Bolshoi Moscow circus company numbers more than 1000 people. Amond them there are Prize Winners at the international competitions in Monte-Carlo, Paris, Rome, Verona, Milan and China. The world famous circus company is headed by Leonid Kostiuk, Golden Clown Prize Winner, People's artist of Russia.
