The Moscow Polo Club (MPC) was formed with the objective of introducing and actively promoting the sport of polo throughout Russia and the former Soviet Union. The MPC will focus on providing and facilitating all the necessary infrastructure to enable polo teams and players to play the sport.Polo was last played in Russia before 1917, so an initial key focus of the Moscow Polo Club is on training: MEMBERSHIP The Club has two types of membership: New fee membership information for 2007 is now available: Annual Fee 150 000 RUR. Playing fee for those members who play on club ponies. RUR 300 000 annually payable in three instalments due in February, June, and August. MPC members who own their own and play on their own ponies instead of the Playing Fee pay only Stabling Charges. Stabling Charges are: RUR 17 500 per month payable at mid month during playing and training seasons for the horses (Jan, Feb, Mar, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sept) and RUR 10 000 per month payable at mid month during rest times (Oct, Nov, Dec, April). The stabling charge is comprehensive and includes stabling, feeding, shoeing, training, and routine veterinary care. Chukkers for MPC Members the price is 5000 RUR per chukker. Chukkers for non MPC Members and guests the price is 6500 RUR per chukker MPC is introducing for 2007 a YOUTH TARIFF for players under 31 years of age equal to one half of the normal rate. Membership is on an annual basis and subject to the approval by the Club's Board of Directors.
